On Thursday, our full staff had the unique opportunity to help out at a gala for the Embassy of Ecuador in Japan. Though we were “working,” we were truly treated like guests at this fantastic event that welcomed over 70 people! We indulged in Ecuador’s delicious foods, served by Hotel Okura in Roppongi-Itchome. Quinoa, an edible grain, was a crowd favorite with its savory flavor and healthy ingredients. We also were able to watch traditional Ecuadorian dancers, hear speeches from Ecuador’s Ambassador as well as other guests, and see videos emphasizing the beauty and culture that exists in the country of Ecuador. We were very lucky to have been invited to help at this event and look forward to more partnerships between SOMOS and Ecuador.
