After School Science: Playdough!

Last month in our Science class, we tried to recreate one of my American childhood favorites – Playdough!  Playdough is like clay, but it comes in many colors and since it doesn’t dry, you can keep molding different shapes, animals, or anything you want! For our SOMOS Playdough, we mixed globs of glue with handfuls of cornstarch. We also added food coloring to practice using colors and to create an array of colorful dough. The kids were unsure at first about whether the sticky glue could really become like dough, but after taking time to mix everything together, it really worked and in no time they were crafting their very own animals and shapes! See! Science can be fun, too. 🙂
